Heart Chakra Express
ON FROM KATHMANDU
After leaving Kathmandu, we travelled to Pokhara in western Nepal. By that
time (June), it was really the low season and Pokhara's idyllic lakeside
tourist area was nearly deserted. Hot, peaceful, and gorgeous, Pokhara was
about as relaxing as it gets, so it was with more than a little
apprehension that we set off on the bus south to India.

Our bus from the border dropped us off right outside the Gorakhpur (India)
train station, where inside and outside ...

What to do? Kathmandu!
Namaste, again, loved ones. This e-mail covers our time in Nepal, which
was very special. Hope you enjoy!
TREKKING
Trekking in the Nepal Himalayas is a unique experience to be found no
where else on earth. We hiked for fourteen days through vast territories
accessible only by foot. Each night, we stayed in small villages where
the absence of roads and vehicles has preserved a traditional way of life
forgotten in most places around the world. The areas we visited were the

Planet India
Namaste everyone,
India seems to be not so much a different country as a separate planet.
With 1 billion people and 18 official languages, India is a mess!

Instead, we departed with half a dozen other passengers at the
surpri...

Asian Journey
This is a long one:
My what a lengthy road it has been since last we wrote. Along our way, we
have carried you all in our hearts, connected by thought, spirit, and the
love we feel across the miles.
At the end of our last message, we had come down from the mountains of
Dalat to the seashore of Vietnam. Our next stop was off the grid at
Jungle Beach. Where the road ends and the mountain meets the sea we found
Sylvio, a Canadian ex-pat who, along with his Vietnamese wife and
family, runs a qu...

Happy New Year, everyone!
In 13 days we will celebrate New Year's again (or rather for the first
time) when the Vietnamese observe Tet New Year. We went to bed at 10:45
on December 31st, our first night in Vietnam. Little have the holidays
entered our minds here. We have even been a little bit startled when the
locals kindly wish us Happy New Year or Merry Christmas. Delana did
observe the solstice, however. We visited the temples of Angkor for the
first time on that day.
Leaving Phnom Penh...
